Education Ministry, UNICEF sign annual cooperation program

Minister of Education and Science Renata Deskoska and UNICEF Representative Benjamin Perks on Wednesday signed the 2018 Cooperation Program.

The annual program envisages UNICEF’s support for the Ministry of Education and Science and other competent institutions to improve the quality of the educational system in Macedonia.

Under the annual cooperation program, support will be focused on improving the system to boost its quality by carrying out an analysis on grading and evaluation, bolstering the capacities of school staff and stimulating the competitive spirit of young people.

Also, UNICEF will provide support for the preparation of strategies on introducing education that will play a vital role in establishing values amongst young people as well as for professional development of teachers to apply new teaching methodologies.

Activities will aim at supporting key participants in the educational system to acquire knowledge and skills and raising awareness about the importance of involving children, their families and the communities into an inclusive and quality education.
