DUI demands formation of a working group for the ‘Almir’ case

After meeting with the lawyers and parents of the killed child Almir Aliu, DUI MPs initiated the formation of a working parliamentary group, where the whole case involving little Almir will be considered.

The lawyer of the Aliu family, Asmir Alispaic, said he expected all procedural violations and all the injustices in this process made by the prosecution to be corrected.

“The initiative to form a working parliamentary group was handed over and archived today, with the same form as the working group for the Sopot case. We require support from all parties, so that this process does not get a political, party or ethnic direction,” DUI said.
Regarding this case, the MP of DUI and Chairman of the Committee on European Affairs of the Assembly, Artan Grubi also made a statement. After meeting with David Cullen of the European Commission, in charge of the preparation of the Progress Report on the Republic of Macedonia, he said that there would be no selective justice in Macedonia, but reminded that the rule of law and citizens’ trust towards it is built only through respect for the laws and through evidence, and in no case tolerate it to build up an ethnic, political or religious way of thinking from prosecutors or judges.
