Disagreements remain over the Law on Public Prosecution
“The amendments submitted were not in line with the recommendations of the EU regarding opening of accession negotiations. Talks will continue,” said the Justice Ministry.
The working groups of the ruling majority and the opposition have so far held several meetings over the public prosecution law, which also regulates the future status of the Special Public Prosecution – SPO.
The key differences remain over the future status and work of the SPO, the future of all the cases already launched by the SPO, and use of evidence.
The public prosecution law should be adopted by a two-third majority and it is considered as one of the conditions for a date to open negotiations with the European Union.
