Court to rule on April 27 case today at noon


Skopje’s Criminal Court will rule today at noon on the violence in Parliament on April 27, 2017.

Out of the 33 people initially indicted on charges of terrorist endangerment of the constitutional order and security, 15 were pardoned under the Amnesty Law, and 17 defendants will be given sentences today.

Presiding over the trial is Judge Dobrila Kacarska, and the prosecutor is Vilma Ruskovska.

Awaiting their verdicts are Mitko Chavkov, Dushko Lazarov, Goran Gjoshevski-Levi, Mitko Peshov, Oliver Popovski, Munir Pepikj, Abdul Feta Alimi, Oliver Radulov, Igor Durlovski, Jane Chento, Igor Jug, Aleksandar Vasilevski-Nindzha, Nikola Mitrevski-Koljo, Mladen Dodevski, Goranche Angelovski, Vlatko Trajkovski, and Vilijam Mihajlovski.

Chavkov has been held in pre-trial detention due to his being a flight risk.

The Public Prosecution also indicted five people for organizing the April 27 parliament storming: Nikola Gruevski, Trajko Veljanoski, Mile Janakieski, Spiro Ristovski, and Nikola Boshkovski.
