Court orders 30-day detention for Boki 13

The Skopje Court ordered 30-day detention for Bojan Jovanovski, aslo known as Boki 13, and Zoran Milevski, suspected of accepting a reward for unlawful influence and money laundering.

Elaborating the case and evidence collected to open the investigation, Prosecutor Vilma Ruskovska at a news conference earlier in the day failed to reveal the suspects’ identities, citing presumption of innocence.

“An investigation was launched because the prime suspect between November 2018 and April 2019 had been making efforts to exert influence on a public prosecutor so as to mitigate the conditions of a suspect under investigation. The second suspect had played a significant role by arranging meetings and establishing contacts between the prime suspect with the suspect’s wife and with him personally,” Ruskovska told reporters.

Several media have reported that the family home of Bojan Jovanovski, the owner of 1TV station, was being searched by police. He was arrested trying to leave the country on the border with Greece.

The second suspect was arrested while dining at a Skopje restaurant. Zoran Milevski, also known as Zoki Kicheec, is a businessman.
