COSAP conference: MEP Vajgl urges opposition to engage in Parliament’s work

European Parliament’s Macedonia Rapporteur Ivo Vajgl has urged the opposition to engage in the work of the Parliament, saying the ruling authorities and the opposition must work together for the well-being of the country.

MEP Vajgl, who takes part at a conference of Committees for European Affairs/Integration of countries within the Stabilization and Association Process of South-East Europe (COSAP) in Skopje on Monday, also said the ruling authorities should take into account that opposition VMRO-DPMNE is still the strongest political party in Parliament and its absence is very problematic, especially when it comes to the institution’s daily operations.

“The government coalition has the responsibility to make the opposition feel comfortable and active, giving it a chance especially on strategic issues. This is not the case for the time being,” added Vajgl.

He stressed there are great expectations from the Jean Monnet process, which is expected to begin in March.
