Citizens vote in presidential runoff

North Macedonia votes Sunday in a runoff election to pick the country’s fifth president. The voters will choose between SDSM’s presidential candidate Stevo Pendarovski, and his main rival of VMRO-DPMNE coalition Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova.

1,808,131 voters are to vote in Sunday’s presidential runoff administered in 3,480 polling stations and in 32 diplomatic and consular offices abroad.

On Sunday, polling stations open at 7am and close at 7pm.

According to the State Election Commission (SEC) 3,381 domestic and 520 foreign observers monitor second round of presidential elections. SEC also accredited 289 translators.

Other embassies, including those of Russia, France, the UK, Sweden, Hungary, Italy, Albania, Slovakia, also have their own representatives accredited to monitor the election.

The ill and the disabled persons, the internally displaced persons, and persons serving a prison sentence voted on Saturday.
