Change of Great Britain’s ambassador to Macedonia

The new British ambassador to Macedonia, Rachel Galloway, officially began her mandate yesterday by handing over the credentials to President Gjorge Ivanov.
Ivanov assessed that there is a common interest for further intensification of the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries, especially in the economic cooperation, and thanked for the support for the implementation of the Macedonian strategic priorities, EU and NATO membership.
Ambassador Galloway pointed out that the Western Balkans is an important region for the United Kingdom, as demonstrated by the recent London Summit hosted by their prime minister.
“We are increasing our support both for Macedonia and the region in order to support your efforts to build prosperity in a safe and stable neighbourhood,” Ambassador Galloway said.
