Bosnjakovski: Minister Saljiji’s personal resignation won’t affect reforms

“The resignation of Justice Minister Bilen Saljiji will not affect the implementation of reforms because nothing will be deadlocked”, stated Mile Bosnjakovski on Wednesday.

Minister Saljiji announced his resignation on Tuesday evening at a news conference.

The government spokesman said Saljiji had stepped down due to personal reasons, for feeling a moral responsibility over the public’s diminishing trust into certain segments of judicial reforms, and in connection to the ‘Almir’ case.

Almir Aliu was a 4-year old boy who succumbed to the injuries he sustained after being hit by a car in June 2016 in Kumanovo.

Answering journalist questions at today’s press conference, spokesman Bosnjakovski said the language law would be forwarded to the Venice Commission once it was published in the Official Gazette, and all recommendations of the Commission would be implemented.
