Bosnjakovski: Kotzias’ visit considered a step forward to find name solution

-“Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias’ visit to Macedonia, expected to take place next week, is a step forward in finding a final solution to the name dispute”, government spokesman Mile Bosnjakovski said Wednesday.

The government spokesman said that the exact date of Kotzias’ visit to Skopje is yet to be determined.

Asked to comment on PM Zoran Zaev’s remarks at yesterday’s joint news conference with the US Department of State senior official, Wess Mitchell – that he expected US assistance as regards the name dispute – Bosnjakovski reiterated the government’s stance, namely that the name settlement process is brokered by the UN through mediator Matthew Nimetz.

“Any solution would go through mediator Nimetz. A solution would be reached after a mutual compromise in the interest of the two parties. The agreement we are going to work out will be a mutual compromise that is acceptable for the two parties, a dignified solution. We haven’t yet reached a stage that requires guarantees for an agreement,” stated Bosnjakovski.
