Bosnjakovski: Constitutional amendments confirm the non-interference in the internal affairs of the two countries

The Government of Macedonia has made a clarification statement, regarding the statement made by Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, according to which “the Prespa Agreement creates potential opportunities for teaching the Macedonian language in Greece”.

IBNA contacted the Government Spokesman of Macedonia, Mile Bosnjakovski who said:

“The Prespa Agreement provides an opportunity for friendship and strategic partnership between the two sides, and it also provides membership in NATO and EU integration for our country.

With the membership of our country in the EU, the Macedonian language – which is confirmed in the Agreement to be in the group of South Slavic languages, will become an official language in the EU as means for communication and mutual understanding.

There are no articles in the Prespa Agreement that determine the rights to use the languages in both countries.

At the same time, the Prespa Agreement confirms a basic principle that there should be no interference in the internal affairs of both countries, and this is confirmed by the constitutional amendments”.
