BOC: We will help our Orthodox brothers in Macedonia

We are ready to do everything we can and according to the holy canons of the Holy Church to help our Orthodox brothers in today’s Macedonia, wrote the Synod of the BOC in the letter on the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of the Ohrid Archbishopric.

In the epistle published on the Holy Synod of the BOC website, it is said that today there are quite different state and church realities in the Balkans from those of the distant past, and that various socio-political processes have led to the formation of new states and new local Orthodox churches over the years.
“What continues to unite us all today, without exception, is our Orthodox Christian faith. What continues to unite us today is the divine body of the Holy and Martyrs Orthodox Church,” the letter says.

It was the reason for BPC to accept the role of mediator proposed by the Macedonian side, to take the necessary and all possible steps and actions according to the centuries-old rules of the church, in front of the other brotherly Orthodox churches in order to resolve the canonical church status of the Orthodox Church a church in the Republic of Macedonia, which, as it is said, has been suffering more than half a century from imposed church isolation.

At the same time, in connection with the refusal of the BOC to participate in the celebration that took place on May 27 and 28 in Ohrid, in the letter of the BOC, signed by Patriarch Neofit and of all the metropolitans, it is said that the BOC was sent undeserved criticism, even accusations for betrayal, which, irrespective of whether they were the result of misunderstanding, brought unnecessary bitterness.
