Anita Angelovska-Bezoska to take over NBRM post today


New governor of the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia (NBRM) Anita Angelovska-Bezoska will take over the post from Dimitar Bogov on Tuesday.

The Parliament elected Angelovska-Bezoska to the position on Monday by 81 votes in favor, with none against or abstained.

Angelovska-Bezoska is Macedonia’s fifth governor and the first women in the seat. She comes from the post NBRM vice-governor for monetary policy, research and statistics (2010-2018).

Earlier in her career, Angelovska-Bezoska worked in the Finance Ministry (1996-2004) and was NBRM’s chief economist (2004-2010).

In 2015, she received a PhD from the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana.
