Albania will ratify Macedonia’s NATO Accession Protocol on Thursday

The Law Commission of the Albanian Parliament voted unanimously on the Protocol for Accession of Macedonia to the North Atlantic Alliance. With full consensus, opposition and majority members voted for the Protocol, which paves the way for Macedonia to join the Alliance as the 30th member.

This approval gives the green light to the Albanian Parliament, on Thursday, when it is also expected to ratify this new chapter for Macedonia unanimously. The meeting of the Macedonian Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi is expected to be present at the session in the Albanian Parliament on Thursday. Reaching this agreement between Greece and Macedonia is considered a positive step, which provides a guarantee for peace and prosperity in the Balkans.
